Comodo have one of the most extensive Rootkey portfolio's trusted
by over 99.3% of All browsers
Browser Recognition
99.3% of Internet users inherently trust Comodo Certificates - Equivalent to VeriSign and Thawte! Our Root is trusted by over 99.3% of all current browsers comprising all Internet Explorer 5.01 and above, Netscape 4.77 and above, AOL 5 and above and Opera 8 and above.
SGC (Server Gated Cryptography)
SGC compatible Root Certificates are important for online businesses so that consumers with older systems can interact safely and securely in online transactions. SGC technology enables older systems to step-up to 128-bit encryption (from 40-bit or 56-bit) so that SGC-enabled Certificates can offer strong encryption to over 99.9% of site visitors.
Key Size
The UTN and AddTrust Root Certificates employ 2048-bit keys. This is a critical consideration as it would technically bepossible to break a 1024-bitkey much, much more quickly than a 2048-bit key because fundamentally, 1024-bit keys are easier to factor which makes the guessing attack much faster. Importantly, new SSL certification standards being developed by major browser providers like Microsoft and leading CAs such as Comodo, identify 2048-bit CA key sizes as the new standard.
Signature Algorithm
The signature algorithm used to sign the UTN and AddTrust Root Certificates is "SHA-1 with RSA Encryption". SHA1 is recognized as the strongest available standard.
